Our overall view of Metabolix
Metabolix is a labelled food supplement from a named seller, with a published ingredient table and a stated money-back guarantee. That is a reasonable starting point, not a recommendation. It contains a stimulant (caffeine), several plant extracts and wheat fibre, so it is not suitable for everyone, and we cannot promise any result from it.
Read the seller's return conditions, check the company in the Dutch register and speak to a GP or pharmacist first if you take medication, have a medical condition or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Prices and terms were checked on 7 November 2026 and can change.
What Metabolix is

Metabolix is sold online as a dietary supplement in capsule form. Each bottle holds 60 capsules, and at the seller's stated dose of two capsules a day that is a 30-day supply. It is a food supplement, which means it is not licensed as a medicine and has not been assessed for treating or preventing any condition.

This page is a plain-English summary. Everything about the product comes from the seller's own published pages, which we read on 7 November 2026, and we have not tested the product ourselves.

The label, and what the seller says versus what we can say

The bottle describes itself with the words “Metabolic Support Complex with Green Tea, with Natural Ingredients”. We quote that only as the seller's wording. It is a brand and label description, not a finding of ours, and we do not endorse it or any outcome it might suggest.
That distinction matters. In the UK, advertising for food supplements must stay within authorised health claims, and a product name or slogan cannot stand in for evidence. So on this site we limit ourselves to three things: what is printed on the label, what the published ingredient table says, and general safety information. We do not say that Metabolix will do anything for you, and you should be cautious about any page that does.
The one authorised claim relevant to the published ingredients is about the nutrient chromium, and it is explained in our ingredients and doses guide, together with its limits.

The published ingredient table
The seller publishes this table of ingredients per daily dose of 2 capsules:
| Ingredient | Per daily dose (2 capsules) |
|---|---|
| Cayenne pepper extract | 40 mg |
| Green tea extract | 150 mg |
| Caffeine | 100 mg |
| Wheat fibre | 600 mg |
| Chromium picolinate | 40 mcg |
| Ginger extract | 60 mg |
| L-carnitine tartrate | 50 mg |
Three points stand out. First, caffeine at 100 mg a day is roughly the amount in a mug of instant coffee, and it adds to any coffee, tea or energy drinks you already have. Second, wheat fibre is listed, so people with a wheat allergy or coeliac disease should check the full label before buying. Third, the table lists amounts of extracts, not of any active compound, so it tells you what went into the capsule rather than what you will absorb. Our full ingredients guide goes through each one.

How to read a supplement label sensibly
A label is the most reliable part of any supplement page, because it is regulated and it is what arrives in the post. Start with the ingredient table, then look at the serving size, because amounts are quoted per daily dose and not per capsule. For Metabolix the daily dose is two capsules, so each capsule holds half of every figure in the table.
Next, look for anything you personally need to avoid, such as an allergen, a stimulant or an ingredient that a clinician has advised you against. Finally, treat slogans, brand names and promotional pages as marketing. A good habit is to ask, for every sentence you read, whether it describes what is in the bottle or promises what will happen to you. The first kind is information. The second kind is something no food supplement can lawfully guarantee.
If something on the pack you receive differs from the table here, trust the pack, and contact the seller before you take it.

How the seller says to take it
According to the seller, you take 2 capsules once a day, unchewed, with two large glasses of water, about 15 to 30 minutes before a meal (lunch or dinner). Do not exceed the stated dose, and always follow the directions printed on the pack you receive, which take priority over anything on this page.
Because the formula contains caffeine, it makes sense not to take it late in the day if you are sensitive to stimulants or find sleep difficult. A supplement is meant to sit alongside a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle, not to replace either.

Who might consider it, and who should not
Metabolix is aimed at adults who are comfortable with a capsule containing plant extracts and caffeine and who have read the ingredient table. That is a description of the product, not advice to buy it.
Speak to a GP or pharmacist first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take any medication, have a medical condition, or are sensitive to caffeine or spicy ingredients. It is not for under-18s. Anyone with an eating disorder, or a history of one, should speak to a GP before using any weight-control product.
- Stimulant sensitivity: caffeine and cayenne can be a problem for people with heart or blood-pressure concerns, anxiety or poor sleep.
- Wheat: wheat fibre is a listed ingredient, so check the label if you have an allergy or coeliac disease.
- Medicines: ginger and L-carnitine come with general cautions for people on blood thinners or thyroid medicine, so ask a pharmacist.

Safety in brief
Green tea extract has been linked to rare liver problems at high intakes, and the 150 mg per day listed here is a moderate amount, but it is one more reason not to add other green tea extract products on top. Capsules can cause stomach upset in some people, and taking them with plenty of water, as the directions say, is a sensible precaution. Stop taking the product and seek advice if you feel unwell.
Our side effects and safety guide covers each of these points in more detail, including what to tell a pharmacist.

Is Metabolix a scam or legit?
It is not anonymous. The seller's legal notice names Hegumate B.V., trading as Metabolix, at Keizersgracht 520 H, 1017 EK Amsterdam, with Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 80743587, a VAT number, a phone number and an email address. You can search the KvK number in the Dutch Chamber of Commerce register yourself, and we encourage you to.
That is better than a disappearing seller, but it is a low bar, and we have not verified anything beyond the seller's own notice. The seller's sales pages also use persuasion techniques that are common in this category, so treat any promise on them with scepticism. Our full seller check explains what is verifiable and how to order safely.
